Back up and restore your lyrics

Updated: October 17, 2026

Your lyrics are stored on your phone. With data backup you can keep them safe and move them to another device. Everything is in Settings.

Local backup

Save a copy of your library on your device:

  • Export to Device: creates the backup.
  • Import from Device: restores a saved copy.

After exporting or importing, restart the app so the changes take effect. Local backup has no limit in either version.

Cloud backup

Save an online copy so you can recover it from any phone:

  1. Under Cloud Backup, choose Export to Cloud.
  2. Enter your email and a 4-digit number of your choice.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish.

Important: write down your email and your number. You need them to recover your backup and we can’t recover them for you. If that email already has a backup, the number must be the same.

Only the most recent backup for each email is kept. In the free version you can make one cloud backup per week; with PRO there is no limit.

Restore on another phone

  1. Install My Lyrics on the new phone.
  2. In Settings choose Import from Cloud and enter the same email and number.
  3. The app downloads the backup and asks whether you want to replace your current database. If you accept, your lyrics, chords and setlists are replaced with those from the backup.

Recommendations

  • Back up before changing phones or resetting your device.
